HISTORY OF THE SAN DAY SURGERY HORNSBY

The San Day Surgery Hornsby, previously known as the Hornsby Day Surgery Centre (HDSC), was purchased by Sydney Adventist Hospital in December 2001. Designed and built by Dr J David Wilson, the HDSC first opened in August 1986. It was the first purpose built day surgery unit in NSW, and the first private unit to be licensed in NSW.

Sydney Adventist Hospital renamed the centre and undertook a comprehensive refurbishment program which was completed in October 2004.

The San Day Surgery Hornsby cares for over 3,000 patients per year. Customer satisfaction surveys are conducted regularly and patients consistently describe the San Day Surgery Hornsby as a Centre of Excellence, staffed by caring professionals in a calm environment. Staff accredit the San Day Surgery Hornsby as a truly great place to work.
